Pelican Seek 100XP Angler Kayak | Sit-On-Top Fishing Kayak
Our Pelican Seek 100XP Angler Kayak is purpose-built for anglers who need a stable, feature-rich fishing platform without the bulk of a 12-foot hull. At 10 feet long and 31 inches wide, this sit-on-top design offers exceptional stability for standing casts while remaining nimble enough to paddle solo into tight fishing spots.
We engineered the twin-arched multi-chine hull to track straight in open water and stay stable when you're fighting fish or moving gear. The RAM Mounts® rod holder system keeps your rods secure and accessible, while two flush-mount rod holders give you multiple line options. A large rear tank well with bungee tie-downs handles your cooler, tackle crate, or extra gear, and the integrated accessory eyelets let you customize your setup with fish finders, cup holders, or additional storage.
The ERGOFORM™ padded backrest and seat cushion keep you comfortable during all-day trips, and multiple footrest positions accommodate paddlers from 5'2" to 6'4". We included our signature bottle holder and a mesh storage sleeve within arm's reach, so water and essentials stay close. The Seek 100XP Angler weighs just 51 pounds, making it easy to load on your vehicle and launch solo.
What makes the Seek 100XP Angler stand out

Hull Design & On-Water Performance
We built the Pelican Seek 100XP Angler Kayak around our twin-arched multi-chine hull, a design that balances primary stability with efficient tracking. The wide 31-inch beam provides the confidence you need to stand and cast without feeling tippy, while the defined chines cut through chop and crosswinds better than flat-bottom recreational hulls.
The 10-foot length is the sweet spot for solo anglers who fish lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. You get enough hull speed to cover water efficiently without the fatigue of paddling a longer tandem model. The slightly rockered profile lets you turn quickly in tight creek channels or maneuver around dock pilings, and the hull tracks straight enough for open-water crossings when you need to reach that offshore structure.

Fishing Features & Gear Storage
RAM Mounts® Rod Holder System
We integrated the RAM Mounts® rod holder directly into the deck, giving you a quick-release mounting point that handles spinning rods, baitcasters, and even fly rods up to 8 feet. The adjustable angle lets you troll multiple lines or keep your rod secure while you paddle. Two flush-mount rod holders are molded into the gunwales for additional lines, and both accept standard rod holder accessories.
Rear Tank Well & Deck Storage
The oversized rear tank well measures 24 inches long and accepts most fishing crates, soft coolers, and dry bags. We included heavy-duty bungee cords that crisscross the well to keep gear locked down in waves or wind. If you run a fishing kayak with a milk crate setup, the Seek 100XP Angler’s tank well dimensions are milk-crate compatible.
Comfort & Fit for All-Day Fishing
We designed the ERGOFORM™ seating system to support your lower back and reduce fatigue during long paddles or all-day sits. The padded backrest is height-adjustable and folds down flat when you need to access the rear tank well. The contoured seat cushion has drainage channels to keep you dry and comfortable even when water splashes into the cockpit.
The footrest system has four adjustment positions, which means paddlers from 5’2″ to 6’4″ can dial in a comfortable leg position. Proper foot bracing is critical for efficient paddle strokes and stability when you’re fighting fish, so we made the adjustment tool-free—just pop the footrests out and reposition them in seconds.

Pelican Seek 100XP Angler Questions
The Pelican Seek 100XP Angler has a maximum weight capacity of 325 pounds. This includes your body weight plus all gear, coolers, tackle, and accessories.
For optimal performance and stability, we recommend keeping your total load under 300 pounds. This leaves a safety margin and ensures the kayak rides at the correct waterline for best tracking and speed.
Yes, the Seek 100XP Angler's 31-inch beam and twin-arched multi-chine hull provide enough primary stability for standing casts in calm to moderate water conditions. We designed the low center of gravity and wide platform specifically for anglers who want to sight-fish or make overhead casts.
For safety, we recommend practicing standing in shallow water first and always wearing a PFD. Avoid standing in strong wind, waves, or current until you're comfortable with the kayak's balance.
We recommend a 220-240 cm kayak paddle for the Seek 100XP Angler. The 31-inch beam means you need a slightly longer paddle than you would use on a narrower touring kayak.
Your ideal paddle length depends on your height and paddling style. Paddlers under 5'8" typically prefer 220-230 cm, while taller paddlers do well with 230-240 cm. A low-angle paddle with a wider blade works best for the relaxed cadence most anglers use.
Absolutely. The Seek 100XP Angler's wide beam and sit-on-top design make it one of the most stable kayaks we offer, and it's an excellent choice for first-time kayak anglers. The low center of gravity and wide footprint mean you won't feel tippy when you lean over to grab gear or net a fish.
The sit-on-top design also eliminates the fear of being trapped in a cockpit if you capsize. You can easily slide back on from the water if you do flip, though the Seek 100XP Angler's stability makes capsizing unlikely in normal fishing conditions.
Yes, the Seek 100XP Angler has multiple integrated accessory eyelets on the deck and gunwales that accept standard fish finder mounts. Most anglers mount the display on the deck eyelets near the cockpit and run the transducer cable to a scupper hole or over the gunwale.
You'll need a kayak-specific fish finder mount (most use RAM Mounts® components) and a portable fish finder with a rechargeable battery. We recommend sealing all cable entry points with marine-grade silicone to prevent water intrusion.
The Seek 100XP Angler fits on any standard kayak roof rack system, including J-cradles, saddles, or stackers. At 10 feet long, it won't overhang excessively on most sedans, SUVs, or trucks.
We recommend using cam straps to secure the hull to the rack and running bow and stern lines to your vehicle's tie-down points for added security. If you're transporting multiple kayaks, the Seek 100XP Angler stacks well with other sit-on-top models.
The Seek 100XP Angler includes the RAM Mounts® rod holder system, ERGOFORM™ padded seat and backrest, and additional accessory eyelets that the standard Seek 100 Angler does not have. The XP model is designed for anglers who want a premium seating system and more mounting options for electronics and accessories.
Both models share the same twin-arched multi-chine hull, dimensions, and weight capacity. If you plan to fish long hours or add a fish finder, the XP version offers better comfort and rigging flexibility.
