Pelican Geyser 100X Kayak
The Pelican Geyser 100X kayak is built for paddlers who want confidence on the water without complexity. We designed this 10-foot sit-inside kayak to deliver rock-solid stability for beginners while keeping weight low enough for solo car-topping and easy portage.
Our twin-sheet thermoform construction creates a hull that absorbs impacts without cracking, so you can launch from rocky shores and navigate shallow creeks without worry. The ERGOFORM backrest cradles your lower back during hours of exploration, while adjustable footrests accommodate paddlers from 5'2" to 6'4". Storage hatches fore and aft keep gear dry, and integrated bottle holders keep hydration within reach.
Whether you're casting for bass on a farm pond or paddling sunset laps with family, the Geyser 100X tracks straight, turns predictably, and inspires confidence stroke after stroke. We built this kayak for the paddler who values durability and ease over speed—because the best kayak is the one you'll actually use.
Geyser 100X specifications

Hull construction & durability
We build the Pelican Geyser 100X kayak with twin-sheet thermoform technology that bonds two layers of high-density polyethylene under heat and pressure. This creates a hull 30% more rigid than single-layer rotomolded plastic while cutting weight by nearly 10 pounds compared to traditional construction.
The result is a kayak that glides over submerged logs, scrapes across gravel bars, and bounces off dock pilings without denting or cracking. UV inhibitors mixed throughout the material prevent sun fade and brittleness even after years of outdoor storage. Our lifetime hull warranty backs every Geyser 100X because we know this construction outlasts typical recreational kayaks by seasons.

Cockpit comfort & adjustability
ERGOFORM seating system
The ERGOFORM backrest in the Geyser 100X contours to your lumbar curve with high-density foam padding that stays comfortable through four-hour paddles. We positioned the backrest 3 inches higher than standard recreational seats to support your mid-back during aggressive forward strokes.
Adjustable ERGOFIT footrests slide along tracks inside the cockpit and lock with spring-loaded pins. Small paddlers move the rests forward for leg support; tall paddlers slide them back for full extension. The large cockpit opening (23″ x 15″) makes entry easy while still providing thigh contact for control during turns.
Storage & capacity
Bow and stern hatches seal with quick-lock covers that snap tight in seconds—no bungee wrestling required. The front hatch holds a 10-liter dry bag; the rear fits a 20-liter bag with room for a tackle box or camp chair. Bungee deck rigging on the rear tankwell secures a cooler or additional gear bag.
The Geyser 100X carries up to 275 pounds of paddler and gear, which accommodates most adults plus a day’s provisions. We designed the hull with a shallow V-keel that distributes weight evenly, so the kayak tracks straight even when you load the stern heavy with camping equipment or fishing tackle.

Geyser 100X kayak questions
The Geyser 100X has a maximum capacity of 275 pounds, which includes the paddler's weight plus all gear. We recommend staying at least 20 pounds under max capacity for optimal performance and stability.
Most adults between 120 and 220 pounds will find the kayak performs well with room for a dry bag, cooler, and fishing tackle. Heavier paddlers or those carrying significant camping gear may want to consider our Maxim 100X, which offers a higher weight capacity.
The Pelican Geyser 100X kayak is designed for calm to moderate water conditions—lakes, ponds, slow-moving rivers, and protected coastal bays. The hull performs well in Class I moving water with gentle current and minimal obstacles.
We do not recommend the Geyser 100X for whitewater, ocean surf, or fast rivers with rapids. The sit-inside cockpit and recreational hull design prioritize stability and ease over aggressive maneuvering in technical conditions.
At 42 pounds, the Geyser 100X is light enough for most adults to car-top solo. We recommend using J-cradles, saddle-style racks, or foam blocks with cam straps rated for at least 200 pounds.
Position the kayak hull-down on J-cradles or hull-up on saddles, and secure with two cam straps—one near the cockpit and one at the stern. Add bow and stern tie-downs to hood and bumper anchor points for highway speeds. The 10-foot length fits most compact cars and SUVs.
The Geyser 100X works well for casual fishing on lakes and ponds. The stable platform lets you cast and reel without constant balance adjustments, and the rear tankwell fits a crate or tackle box. Integrated paddle holder clips free your hands when you're working a lure.
For dedicated fishing features like rod holders, fish finder mounts, and standing stability, check out our Bounty 100X fishing kayak. But if you fish occasionally and prioritize general recreation, the Geyser 100X covers both roles effectively.
The adjustable footrests accommodate paddlers from approximately 5'2" to 6'4". The cockpit opening measures 23 inches wide by 15 inches long, which provides easy entry for most adults including those with limited flexibility.
Paddlers over 6'4" may find legroom tight when the footrests are at maximum extension. Paddlers under 5' may prefer a youth-specific model with a smaller cockpit for better thigh contact and control.
The Geyser 100X kayak is sold hull-only and does not include a paddle. We recommend pairing it with a 220-230 cm recreational paddle with asymmetrical blades for efficient all-day paddling.
Most paddlers between 5'4" and 6'2" perform best with a 220 cm paddle. Taller paddlers or those with wider kayaks may prefer 230 cm for comfortable reach and stroke efficiency.
Every Pelican Geyser 100X includes our lifetime warranty on the hull against defects in materials and workmanship. This covers structural failures, weld separation, and manufacturing flaws—but not damage from impact, abrasion, or improper storage.
Seats, footrests, hatches, and other outfitting components carry a 5-year limited warranty. We stand behind our construction because we know twin-sheet thermoform hulls outlast conventional recreational kayaks when properly cared for.
