The Pelican Pace 100X kayak is our lightweight 10-foot recreational sit-in designed for easy paddling on calm lakes and slow rivers. We built this kayak with our RAM-X™ impact-resistant material to handle bumps and scrapes while keeping the weight manageable for solo car-topping and launching.

RAM-X Construction & Durability
We manufacture the Pelican Pace 100X kayak using our proprietary RAM-X™ material—a multi-layer polyethylene that resists impacts from rocks, docks, and shoreline contact. This construction method creates a hull that’s both lightweight and incredibly tough, so you can focus on paddling instead of worrying about every underwater obstacle.
The twin-arched multi-chine hull design distributes impact forces across the structure while providing the secondary stability that makes getting in and out of the kayak safer. We’ve UV-stabilized the entire hull to prevent fading and brittleness even after seasons of sun exposure. ERGOFORM Backrest System
The ERGOFORM™ padded backrest on the Pace 100X molds to your lower back for ergonomic support during extended paddling sessions. We designed the seat with high-density foam padding that maintains its shape trip after trip, and the adjustable straps let you tighten or loosen the fit based on your torso length and personal preference.
Footrest Positioning
Our adjustable footrests accommodate paddlers from 5’1″ to 6’2″ with multiple locking positions. Proper footrest placement creates the bracing you need for efficient paddle strokes and helps prevent lower back fatigue on longer outings.
Storage & Gear Management
The Pelican Pace 100X kayak includes a molded-in storage compartment behind the seat with bungee deck rigging to secure dry bags, extra layers, or a small cooler. The bungee system uses marine-grade cord that resists UV degradation and saltwater exposure.
We positioned a bottle holder within easy reach of the cockpit so you can stay hydrated without interrupting your paddling rhythm. The storage compartment measures approximately 12 inches wide by 16 inches long—enough space for essentials like a first-aid kit, snacks, sunscreen, and a small tackle box if you’re combining paddling with fishing.

Pelican Pace 100X Kayak Questions
The Pelican Pace 100X has a maximum weight capacity of 275 pounds. This includes the paddler plus all gear, so plan accordingly if you're bringing coolers, fishing equipment, or camping supplies. Staying within the weight limit ensures proper hull performance and stability on the water.
The kayak weighs 36 pounds, which makes it manageable for most adults to car-top without assistance. We've designed molded-in carrying handles at the bow and stern to help with lifting. Using proper lifting technique and positioning your roof rack at a comfortable height will make solo loading easier.
We designed the Pace 100X for calm to light chop conditions—protected lakes, ponds, and slow-moving rivers. The twin-arched multi-chine hull provides good stability in flatwater recreational environments. We don't recommend this kayak for ocean surf, whitewater, or open water with significant wind and wave action.
The Pelican Pace 100X kayak does not include a paddle. You'll need to purchase a paddle separately, and we recommend choosing one that's appropriately sized for your height and the kayak's 28-inch beam width. Most paddlers use a 220-240cm paddle with this kayak.
The Pace 100X is our streamlined recreational sit-in kayak focused on paddling comfort and simplicity. The Pioneer 100XR adds angler-specific features including rod holders, additional storage options, and a hull design optimized for fishing stability. Both share the 10-foot length and RAM-X construction, but the Pioneer is specialized for anglers while the Pace targets general recreation.
The footrests feature a slide-and-lock adjustment system with multiple preset positions. Simply pull up on the adjustment lever, slide the footrest forward or backward to your preferred position, and release the lever to lock it in place. The system accommodates paddlers from approximately 5'1" to 6'2" in height.
